As I'm getting too old to go biking, I advertised a motorcycle on a site aimed at the UK. The first enquiry was blocked by them as a scam, the second got through. It seemed genuine so I replied, this was the response:
Hello, Thanks for the prompt response to my message. I've agree with the condition and price of the motor and i'm okay with it the situation have been replied by you. I will have to instruct my client that has the need to send you his payment of cheque £4000 for the motor, Because i will be taking care of the shippment of the motor and get it deliver to the client interested.. The excess fund on the cheque will cover for the shipping, clearing and booking of the next available flight for the pickups to be shipped at your mailing destination .The aslo contains all the title documents to back up the clearance on there way coming to your destination for the pick up of the advert Kindly get back to me with your full name, mailling address ...and telephone number for payment of cheque to be mail concerning this procedure without any delay,In anticipation of your positive respond to this mail as soonest. Have a great day. Thanks"
Note the mistakes, the asking price was a lot less than their offer!
Clearly an advance fee scam. They don't want the bike, just the real money I send them, after they send me a dud cheque. I have reported it to the site.
Don't fall for this scam!
