It seems that Australia is also being targeted by the slimming scam. I have just received a mailshot from Institute Equiba c/o Global Pay SIN/HS/CSCPL/EQAU SINGAPORE POST CENTRE POST OFFICE P.O. BOX 259 SINGAPORE 914009. The claims and the layout of the leaflet are almost exactly the same as your copy except that the miracle pills are now round and the weight loss is in KGs for this market. One claim is that it works by slow release and then they tell you that the pills are dissolved in water before you drink them! I was very glad to find your warning which confirmed my thoughts. Thankyou!

Thank you Josie for your information. Many thanks also to Kevin for running this site. I too am in Australia and have repeatedly received the product brochure for Equiba, listing all its wonderful results. Being the cautious pessimist that I am I decided to do a net search on the product prior to deciding whether or not to order them. I know in my heart that these types of products are unlikely to be successful, but hold out some hope for the "quick fix". Nonetheless, the information provided in your forum has convinced me that it is better to be a fat bastard than a fat bastard who is poorer to the tune of AU$79.90 (plus P & P) for 8 tablets that are unlikely to result in any weight loss.
Like Josie, my brochure also lists the Singapore address of: Institute Equiba, C/O Global Pay, SIN/HS/CSCPL/EQUA, Singapore Post Centre Post Office P.O. Box 259, Singapore 914009.
;D ;DThey claim a weight loss of 12kg with 4 tablets over 20 days (at 5 day intervals). They have obviously worked hard to improve their perception of authenticity, as the brochure now runs to four colour pages with a very tacky looking and illegible certificate written in what looks like it is supposed to be Italian (from the Ministero Della Salute Republica Italiano). The product is claimed to be "An Italian Discovery". They provide a couple of testimonials (with before and after shots that actually do look like the same people albeit much slimmer) provided as "official proof..given here with permission of the University of Firenze in Tuscany"....ah!!! sounds lovely this time of year). As an added boost to the authenticity of Equiba, a Dr Paul Gentili (don't know what his qualifications are in...could be a PhD in rocket science) provides positive answers to 7 common questions, which of course leave you in no doubt that you should rush that payment in straight away and forget about dieting and exercise forever.
Once again, many thanks for your forum. You saved me from giving in to a weak moment after having consumed one too many chocolates again!!
Cheers

I am just another Australian who today received the Equiba leaflet in the mail. I have made it a habit to do a search on the internet, this is how I stumbled on this interesting site, Astrocat. It seems that from the UK now this scam is operating from Singapore - if the address is a real one! I notice a fine print on the bottom of the order form which one can actually tick to refuse to receive further information from anybody else! I am angry that my name is being put in databases to have junk mail and phone calls. I recently changed my name and this is the first scam I get with my new name. Cheers

I'm from Australia and I'm pretty sure that I got on the mailing list for Equiba by sending for info about Maria Duvall astrology(Singapore address). As soon as I got this, there was no doubt this was a scam. In the advertisement, they promised they wouldn't ask for any money at a later date. Of course they did!
Recently, I received the Equiba mailing sent from a PO Box in Singapore. That was suspicious enogh for me. Although it's still so tempting to think 'What If?' and that's why I came on the net to find out more about it. I'm glad I found this site. I hope more people see it and save their hard earned money.

I have just received in the mail information from "trimbia Institute" about a diet pill that will let you loose 24 lbs with taking just 4 tablets. I looked at the site for Equiba and the pamplet for Trimbia is alike accept for the name. Trimbia Institute (envelope) says they are located at: Suite 3304 #23L, 350 Fifth Avenue, New York, ny 10118-0069. I check out everything that comes in the mail to me and I was surprised to see the same pamplet for Equiba on the web site to include everything that I have in the pamplet I just received on Trimbia. Just wanted to let everyone be aware that the company/persons are just using another name.

I am another one from Australia who has recieved this rubbish in the mail. The name and Singapore address are the same but my pamphlet states that I must take 8 tablets to loose 12kg (24lb). Sadly it is to late for a friend of mine who has already sent her $79.90 plus $8.90 p&h. I have called her with details discovered on this site and hopefully she can cancel her order in time.
