>:(Please be aware of an email from the lottery informing you that you have won a large amount of money. We received one a couple of weeks ago, the numbers were correct, however when we replied we found that it was a European lottery company, nothing to do with the National Lottery, who we emailed to confirm. We played along with them to see what would happen and sure enough to claim our winnings, which supposedly were £250,300 we had to remit around £500 so they could send by bankers draft. All the forms, wording, etc looked genuine, but when I tried to find out more about the fiduciary agent, hit a brick wall. We then emailed back the person concerned and advised them that we could not provide them with the necessary funds and could they not deduct the amount from our winnings and remit us the cheque by normal post. Obviously you can guess what the reply was!!

It's just a variation on the advance fee fraud. If you can let me know the names and addresses involved please post them here, and let everyone you know in on the scam.

Hi there
details as follows:-
first notified by John Cole - Lycos address given - UK National Lottery P O Box 1010 Liverpool L70 1NL online sweepstake
next received an email from Mary Campbell of Orion Dispatch Ltd - she was the one who replied to all the emails and gave details of the 3 options available to claim the money. 2 involved sums of money around £400 to £500 and the last was the option of paying 2.4% of the winnings for it to be 'fast tracked' to our bank.
Obviously no bank account details were given- since my last email informing her again that we had insufficient funds to pay for any of the options we have not heard anything.
