02.10.04 About 3 weeks ago i answered an ad in the paper to take part in an international research project. Today i received a letter saying i had been chosen to join in and they would help me win thousands of pounds and it was all FREE. Then i find another letter from Esmeralda telling me she will do my grand calender of fortune for a mere £40. Believe me nothing is free in this world and what a great scam for those who are ripping of people like us. I have had many many letters offering all sorts of stuff, but there is always a catch and money involved that you have to part with. Dont part with any money they are only getting rich because of people like us. Dont give them the satisfaction of knowing they have ripped of another punter. Do what i do and google search every time, that way you know who they are and NOT what to send them. Dont get caught out and lose money, believe me its not worth it.

I, too, responded to the advert, in the Daily Telegraph magazzine. I received the 3 mailshots from Esmeralda but did not reply.
I have just received a mailing from Australia, from Wealthtec, for £10 to take part in El Gordo, reply to: Customer Service Network, Reply Paid 5763, Gold Coast MC QLD 9726, Australia.
I checked on Google, discovered it is suspect; there is no indication of how much of your money is taken as commision, costs and expences etc.
Thank you, everyone who helps with this board, Eirian.

Funny you should mention the Customer Service Network of Oz. I sent back a letter to an Australian Lottery proxy (both POBox 1313, Runaway Bay, OLD 4216 & POBox 6688, Gold Coast MC, OLD 9726) telling them that my mother was dead and received back a letter from Melissa Larkins at the CSN (address PO Box 5649, Bundall QLD 9726, Oz) listing 13 variations on her (name and) address - and a further variation on her actual name that I had never used (as the full name of the deceased lady no less). Across the bottom of the letter is a list of their trading names:
Wealth Unlimited (Wealth creation by Action) United Benefits The Millionaire 200 Service Australian Lottery Winners Service ILA (International Lottery Agents) Scratch (Ticket Services) WealthTEC
Since the return of their letter, the amount of scammers letter arriving has fallen dramatically. I'm still getting some, but they seem to be based on two main mailing lists: in one, my deceased mother has the mug^H^H^Hcustomer number 0084930, in the other it's 000030872. The 0084930 users include Eva Dumas (EDUK019 - today) & CERPF (CER0904/CEUK017 - yesterday). Also DYUK021 (Dyonsor?), CDOU006, MAGU0408/MAGU007, MLC0704/MLCU007 which I returned unopened, "Addressee Deceased".

Re: ESMERALDA
Since replying to "International Parapsychology Centre" questionnaire - and unfortunately parting with £35 - I have since received a further 4 letters postmarked 9 Trident Way, Southall despite not replying after the first.
The second is about the Oracle of Don Jose £30
The third about "bad luck" and "karma deprogramming" £35 but this comes with a money back guarantee!! Great if you can get hold of her.
The fourth is about a "book of Magic" and fortells you receiving a huge amount of money - its just £35 to translate it!!
Pure scam - the first letter rang bells for me but as I had been recently visited by a lot of bad luck it played on naivety and desperation.
PS there is no info for Esmeralda when searched - could u poss link to your site?

Well, I too, as obviously so many others found this promising ad...for the research! I must admit, the ad in the Daily Mail, a reasonably respectable newspaper, was very tempting. Well, the letter arrived today, but what got my attention, was the Southall address.. Thank you for this website, I stumbled on this by accident, and saved myself £35.

Have you thought of writing to the Daily Mail explaining the real purposes of the IPC, and asking them why they, as a respect newpaper, show want to print ads for known scammers who offer hope, but only to desparate people. They're like Cowboy builders, etc.
You may have saved yourself £35, but what about the others who haven't found this site?

It seems that the Advertising Manager does not read this message board and my website, or he/she would know about this scam. On the other hand, their job is to raise money to run the newspaper, and increase the profitability. Not to worry about the honesty of advertisers.

Everything I have written on this site has been [as far as I am aware] the truth.
If you are being requested to send 10 USD (or other /small/ amount [for whatever reason] to receive a share in a lottery win (or other benefit) for which you have had no previous connection (to your knowledge), then it is a scam and you will not receive a penny back.
Their Modus Operandi (MO), like all these psychic scams, is to charge a small amount of money (that becomes expensive to try and recoup) to lots of people, thus creating a large income (even if a small fraction of the targeted people respond).
If the responder feels they've been had, due to the small amount, it is less hassle to write off the amount than to try and get a refund (which is likely to be unsuccessful - they will possibly just go silent), especially as there is the feeling of shame attached to being had.
If they were genuine, they would be willing to just take the "processing fee" out of the money they are going to send you, rather than require you to pay it up front. Unfortunately, the people they tend to target are less able to reason this way and are often in [desperate] need of the funds that they will send the small processing fee, never to see any of it again.

New Kids on the Block is my favourite band of 90s. NKOTB had so many hits! The ones I remember are 'Tonight', 'Baby, I Believe In You' and, of course their hit 'Step By Step'. These are real masterpieces, not fake like today! And it is sooo good NKOTB have a tour in 2019! And I'm going to attend their concert this year. The concert dates is here: New Kids on the Block tour Memphis. Check it out and maybe we can even visit one of the performances together!
