Hmmm...how many others have received this letter sent to my mother:
``Contrary to what others claim, you are quickly going to be able to say: I play and I win !!!
``My dear ---------
``To you who deserves more luck in life, I have two very important things to tell you.
``First: Our common friend, Edmond de Valles [last mailed my mother on 25.05.06 - not a very good friend] ...
``Secondly: Last night, I had a premonitory dream that concerns you...''
All she wants is £40 for "her" method to win loads...
Return address: Cible, CP 1545, CH 1211 Geneve 26.
Edmond was last known (to me) at: c/o Valdora, CP 68, 1242 Satigny, Switzerland.
The only problem: My mother DIED 11 February 2004 (3 3/4+ years ago). (And I've given up returning to sender as the letter still come.)
---------------
Also got a letter from Rosaleen [Rua Tenente Gouveia N.9 - 9A, QTA DO BOREL, 2720-525 Amadora, Portugal]. That includes:
``In a short period of time, of only 3 weeks, _you are going to be able to have all of your wishes for money granted and benefit from all of the 'strokes of luck' that destiny offers._''
That's so good to know; pity she won't be able to use it now.
Interesting is the small print at the end:
``...By the very nature ofthis offer in which the conviction of success is primordial by the user, we cannot be held to any 'obligation of results'. According to the law all photos and names of people may be removed upon request.''
Hmmm: for whatever she is offering for only £9.99 to work, you've got to believe it will work; if it don't work it's all your fault.
Interesting the last sentence. Does that mean I can request the removal of the photo and name of "Rosaleen" from the mailing in future? ^_^
---------------------------
And finally, Aliette has mailed again (I've given up logging "her" mailings as I just can't be bothered any more - I just wish some of the other companies were as persistent as "she" is with her mailing...namely, the ones where I've ordered stuff and I've heard nowt from them):
ATTENTION, ----------, I ``CAN SEE'' THE SUM OF:
175.000,00 £
[Hmmmm 175 quid may be useful...pity she can't see it in UK terms of £175,000.00 - something I would expect of a proper seer...]
THIS IS THE UNBELIEVABLE SUM THAT YOU MIGHT WIN DURING YOUR HOT PERIOD OF COSMIC CHANCES from the 1st of January 2008 till the 2nd of April 2008!
WOW....if it wasn't that she was DEAD, it'd be great to make use of this....not! And all she wants this time is:£15...
Interesting that she's offering all this advice and then says:
``...Your period of luck, which will last for almost 4 months, begins on the 1st of January 2008 and will glow for you for _93 days_''
Errrmmmm, for someone who's used calculations to come up with the advice, it's a bit worrying that she can't divide by 30 very well: 93 days is just over 3 months, barely almost 4: 3 months is approx 90 days, 4 months is approx 120 days. Even my year 9s would agree that 93 is much closer to 90 than 120 (just done rounding with them).
[Aliette is return address to DE 90003367, Greenford, UB18 7DE; postal "address": c/o Astro-Service, Postfach 1579, 84447 Muehldorf am Inn, Germany.]
