Full-page adverts for the International Parapsychology Centre have appeared in newspapers and magazines, in the UK, over the past few months.
Now, however, a reprint of the advert is now being mailed out to people on mailing lists.
Don't be taken in, it is just a plan to make them rich. Don't believe the handwritten "Try it, it worked for me!" at the top of the page.

i responded to the advert in the press twice. first time I put down a modest sum in the 'how much do you require?' box, the second time I put extra zeros, and was 'chosen' to take part and receive a grand calendar of fortune from Esmeralda, only £32. I didn't send the cheque and after a few weeks I had another letter from Esmeralda asking for only £16 plus £3 admin. As soon as I won a large amount I could send her the outstanding £32. All heart these people!

So I see this full page article in the newspaper over here in Portland Oregon USA fo the National Parapsychology Center. They're doing this wonderful research that proves that winning the lotto is not pure luck. So I say what the heck. It's FREE can't hurt trying. I was "chosen" to be apart of their research. They said Maria Duval saw negative influence in my life recently and she needed to do 2 seances in my honor to rid me of these terrible things for only $45 before I could win it big. Could they be speaking of my husbands ex-wife or my ex-husband or that terrible neighbor down the street or the puppy that tore up my shoes this morning? I'll pay thousands to get rid of that negativity!
I looked up Maria Duval on the internet before sending anything. I'm quite thankful for this website but also somewhat disappointed that there's no hope in getting rid of the ex's.
Thanks guys for all the info janienne@surfsun.com

I replied to an ad in the Daily Express here in England regarding a study being conducted by the International ParapsychologyCentre that is designed to help lotto players win money over a six month period. It was a free opportunity so I figured no harm in trying. A few weeks later I received some utterly useless information from the centre together with a letter from - yes you guessed it - Esmeralda. Thanks to your website I was able to confirm that this is a scam and have sent no money. Equally, I have today received another letter from Esmeralda claiming that she is getting to know me better - how? I never replied in the first place. I just wonder whether the Daily Express are aware that this isnt genuine.

You can try asking them, I have and got no reply. They are only interested in the advertising revenue. Anyway, it was the Daily Express that revived the astrology industry in the UK, back in the 1930s.

I respoded to the same advertisement but went one stage further and sent £35. With further useless information from 'Esmeralda' was a request for more money for the next stage. By then I had seen your warnings on the net and replied that I thought this was a load of rubbish and I wanted my money back. I was very surprised to receive an apologetic letter and £30 cash today. Certainly more than I expected!

I saw an ad in the paper also & answered it. To my dismay I received a reply today claiming that Maria Duval is willing to work with me for $45. Her address is in Morristown, New Jersey. I am going to reply to her that I will send her the money & a little more if she gives me the advice first & then I win. After I win I will send her the money. HA HA! As if she will answer me!! But it is worth the price of a 37 cent stamp.

My name is devon, I saw the centers advertisment in a magazine and responded to it. I got a letter a few weeks later telling me what I had to do to get rich. But it was very confusing. Then it said I could have someone do it for me. A lady called Maria Duval- she was to do a calendar for me to make it easier. But it was going to cost me. As I stated in Marias warning page I don't have money. I have children and can't afford to send money to someone. So I wrote them and told them that if they really wanted to help me then do everything they say they are going to do for me and if it works then I would pay them. I told them that they wanted me to trust them then they should have no problem in showing proof of there gifts. I in turn received a letter asking for money but less of it and for something different. They didn't care that I really am going through some hard times. And they don't care about the strain they are putting on my mental state. I told them my hopes and dreams and I told them all about my children and the hardships I am going through. They didn't care. Now I just got a letter from Mrs. Duvall and believe me it is tempting but I know it will only be bad if I send anything. But my life is in ruin and I don't know how to get out of it and the hope she sent was believable. My children shouldn't have to go through life like this because there mother was a failure. And now Maria has showed me just how much of a faliure I am. I wish I would have never read the magazine. Because now I decided to do what I should have done a long time ago.
